From swamp to splendor: Asaba Waterfront City raises curtain on excellence

Hospitality and Tourism

Asaba is set to undergo a remarkable transformation with the introduction of Asaba Waterfront City, an upscale area planned to be built on a vast 350-hectare swampy land.

The Asaba Waterfront City Development and Management team recently shared exclusive details about this ambitious project with Savvy News.

Chief Ken Iwelumo

The team aims to convert the currently unfavorable swampy terrain into a top-notch, upmarket destination that caters to various lifestyles. Their plans involve reclaiming the land, improving its condition, redesigning the area, and ultimately redeveloping it into a prime location called Asaba Waterfront City.

Located in the heart of Asaba, along the banks of the River Niger, this massive project involves filling the swampy land with sand. By raising the ground level to heights ranging from 3 to 9 meters, the developers are tackling the longstanding issue of flooding. This groundbreaking land reclamation initiative will be the largest of its kind in the history of Delta State.

This transformative project holds great promise for Asaba and the Nigerian economy as a whole. The Asaba Waterfront City project is expected to create numerous job opportunities, boost internal revenue generation, and address the scarcity of high-quality land. It also aims to position Delta State as a center of excellence in commerce, tourism, hospitality, and services.

Preliminary work has already begun on this historic project, which is the largest of its kind ever undertaken in Delta State. Asaba Waterfront City represents an exciting new chapter for the region, where swamps will give way to a modern and elegant skyline.

Savvy News will continue to follow this groundbreaking venture, as it reshapes Asaba and leaves a lasting impact on the Nigerian landscape.
